Kazbegi — the postcard drive
Three hours each way up the Military Highway. You stop at Ananuri fortress, the Russia-Georgia Friendship Monument, then walk or 4x4 up to Gergeti Trinity Church above the clouds. Leave at 08:00, home by 20:00.
Kakheti — wine in one day
Signagi for the views, Bodbe monastery for the light, one or two family wineries in Telavi for qvevri tastings. Two hours each way — this is the easy day trip.
Mtskheta — the half-day
Twenty minutes from Tbilisi. Jvari monastery on the hill, Svetitskhoveli cathedral in town. Pair it with a late lunch at a Mukhrani winery if you want more.
Borjomi — springs & forest
Two and a half hours west. The mineral park, the cable car, and the Romanov summer palace. Pair with Rabati castle in Akhaltsikhe if you leave early.
Bakuriani — snow on a budget
Gudauri has the cachet; Bakuriani has the prices. Under two hours from Borjomi, good for families and first-time skiers. Not worth it as a day trip in summer.
