Gudauri vs Bakuriani

Gudauri: 2,200m base, long red runs, serious off-piste, more expensive. Bakuriani: 1,700m base, family-friendly, cheaper ski schools, shorter runs. Season is roughly Dec 15 → Apr 5 at both.

Lift passes & gear

Gudauri day pass ≈ 60₾, Bakuriani ≈ 40₾. Rental shops line both village approach roads — 40-60₾/day for skis+boots+poles. Book lessons a day ahead if you want English.

Transfer tips

Gudauri is two hours via the Cross Pass — same road as Kazbegi, occasionally closed in storms. Bakuriani is three hours west via Borjomi, lower elevation road, less weather risk.
